Inidhu Inidhu

Though many films set in college life is there in Tamil cinema, what took the eyes of the audience is its fresh casting, catchy visuals, simple and casual dialogues. It is a 2010 musical coming of age film co-written and directed by cinematographer turned director K.V.Guhan starring eight newcomers in lead roles. It is a remake of the successful award-winning 2007 Telugu film Happy Days. The Tamil version was produced by Prakash Raj under his banner Duet Movies and has musical score by Mickey J Meyer.The film was released on 20 August 2010. The movie was a hit at the box office and received good reviews from the audience.


Friends is a comedy-drama film directed by Siddique and produced by Appachan. The film features Vijay, Suriya and Ramesh Khanna in the lead roles. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film released in January 2001 and received positive critical acclaim. The movie depicts the struggle of three friends and their family issues. The film was a commercial hit.

 Kadhal Desam

Kadhal Desam is a 1996 Tamil romance film directed by Kathir and produced by K. T. Kunjumon. The film starred Vineeth, Abbas, and Tabu in the lead roles. A. R. Rahman composed the film’s soundtrack and score. The film was released on 23rd August 1996. The film received positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success. Tabu won the best actress in Film Fare South in 1997.


Thalapathy is a 1991 crime-drama film written and directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by G. Venkateswaran. It stars Rajinikanth, Mammootty, and Shobana in the lead roles. The theme is based on the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana of the Hindu epic, Mahabharata. The score and soundtrack were composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film emerged as a critical and commercial success. Both characters, Rajinikanth and Mammootty had integrity and such loyal friends would be hard to find in Tamil cinema.

VenkatPrabhu’s Chennai 600028 saw a band of buddies who ate, drank and played cricket together. It is a coming of age sports comedy film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu which is his directorial debut. The film stars Jai, Shiva, Premji Amaran, Aravind Akash, Nithin Sathya and newcomers Ajay Raj, Ranjith, Vijay Vasanth, Prasanna, Inigo, Karthik and Arun in the lead. The film was produced by S. P. B. Charan along with J. K. Saravana. The film’s score and soundtrack were composed by Premji Amaran and Yuvan Shankar Raja. The movie was released on 27th April 2007.
