K. S. CHITRA
K. S. Chitra won millions of hearts with her melodious voice. Her music career began in 1983. She is a playback singer from Kerala and sings Indian Classical, devotional and popular music. Chitra has sung more than 25000 songs in 10 Indian languages along with Urdu, Latin, Arabic, Sinhalese and English. The famous music director of the Malayalam film industry, M.G. Radhakrishnan gave K.S.Chitra her first break in the film ‘Attahaasam’.
No doubt that Chitra would have won numerous awards. She has received all four South Indian State film Awards: 6 National Film Awards, 6 Filmfare Awards South and 34 different State film Awards. Chitra is also the recipient of the Indian Civilian honour, Padma Shri in 2005.
Tollywood’s one of the leading singers – Shreya Ghoshal will never lose her charm in singing. We can never have enough of her singing. She won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa reality show at the age of 16 and was noticed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She was given the opportunity to make her Bollywood playback singing debut with Bhansali’s romantic drama Devdas in 2002. From then on, there was no looking back for this current age musical nightingale. She received a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
Shreya started learning music at the age of 4 and got formal training in classical music at the age of 6. She is the recipient of four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards which includes five for Best Female Playback Singer, nine Filmfare Awards South for Best Female Playback Singer, three Kerala State Film Awards, one Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and several other major awards to date.
Sunitha Upadrashta is a Singer, anchor and dubbing artist in the Telugu Film industry. At the age of 15 years, she had won a National Award from All India Radio under light music category in 1994. She started her career in 1995 with the movie Gulabi. She has won two Filmfare Awards and nine Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards. Sunitha has also played host in many live music shows on Gemini TV, MAA TV, ETV.
GEETHA MADHURI SONTHI
Geetha Madhuri Sonthi is one of the best female playback singers we have in the Telugu film industry. Her career shot to fame with the song ‘Ninne Ninne’ from the movie ‘Nachavule’. She won Nandi Award and two Filmfare awards. She holds a record of bagging a maximum number of Filmfare Awards for Telugu movies. Geetha has sung more than 550 songs in all four South Indian languages.
Suchitra Karthik Kumar has sung over 100 songs in three languages: Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. She is a Tamil radio jockey as well. She has worked in a few Kollywood films also but her main priority has been singing and anchoring shows. She started singing after a few years being an RJ. Suchitra is also a songwriter now and composing music. Her unique and bold voice made her very popular with the younger crowd and she won many accolades for her fabulous work in the Indian Film Industry.
