Certainly one of the most astute movies this year, the greatest quality of Sathya is its capriciousness. The director Pradeep Krishnamoorty’s content (a faithful remake of Telugu ┬áspine chiller ‘Kshanam’ with insignificant changes) is the genuine motive. You’re drawn into this convincing wrongdoing screenplay which is ideal from the starting point and it keeps you speculating till the very end.
Sathya is a well made thriller that moves at a rapid pace with twists and turns, and a lot of gripping moments. The film works largely due to its engaging screenplay by Karthick Krishna and neat packaging by director Pradeep, along with an amazing supporting cast, who not only look real but behave like the characters that they are meant to be. The hero himself gets a refreshing makeover and looks and behaves exactly like the NRI IT professional from Australia.

To be reasonable, the acting is reliably first class no matter how you look at it. It is Sibi Sathyaraj’s best ever execution and he is the magic that binds this film. He conveys a complicated, nuanced performance that is difficult to blame. Ramya Nambeesan conveys yet another fine performance┬á and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar sparkles in another look and her peak characterization is a disclosure. For a change Sathish does a genuine part and he is great.
No favor slo-mo shots, no unwanted sound impacts, each scene is made affectionately. The cinematography is in vogue and suggestive, and Simon K King’s tunes (Yavvanna, Sanggu) and BGM emerges. The film’s production design is top-class and another noteworthy part of Sathya is the clever and appealing exchanges of Karthik Krishna.
NEGATIVES - On the flipside, there are some loopholes in the climax, which leaves a lot of questions unanswered. The CLIMAX also looked hurried in the 2 hour 8 minutes thriller. But beyond these niggling issues, the film is engaging and is an intelligent thriller.
FANOLLYWOOD’S VERDICT – A┬áfilm that should be viewed, particularly for its awesome film-production. It is a clever edge-of-the-seat spine chiller.
